How do you review and score software?
We sign up for and actively use every tool we cover, then score it across four pillars - ease of use, features, value for money, and support - each from 1 to 5. The overall score is the average of those four numbers, always on a clear 5-point scale.
Are your reviews independent, or do vendors pay for better scores?
Our reviews are independent. Some links are affiliate links that help fund our testing, but they never influence a score or ranking. A tool with an affiliate program gets no advantage, and you will find below-average scores on this site, on purpose.
What do the four score pillars mean?
Ease of use is how quickly you get value without fighting the interface. Features covers depth and how well the core jobs are done. Value weighs the price against what you actually get. Support reflects documentation, response times, and help when something breaks.
How often are reviews updated?
We revisit a review when a tool ships major changes to its pricing or features, so scores reflect the current product rather than staying frozen at launch.
